October 2010

Ancient Oak tree at Pioneer Mother's Preserve in Paoli with Aden.
"Went see bid bee" That's right kids, trees used to grow to be this big :(
Old growth in Indiana...a rarity!

A real live tree!

Hiking with Dad, who is much more deliberate in his trail pace than Mom. Balance...t's all about balance right? Now hurry up Pokey and Pokey Jr.

Literally every three steps Bridger would stop to ask "What's that?" A boy and his dog in the woods. Really don't think there is a more perfect moment.

Napping on the trail. Look at those lashes!

Mom and B take a break.

Playing pioneer instruments at Spring Mill State Park. What a fabulous place! We spent our anniversary as a family. There was a pioneer village complete with grist mill and some really incredible colors shining through in the woods. Coupled with perfect weather, I wouldn't have wanted to spend the day any differently.

A limestone "chair". Bridger was very intrigued by the shape of the rock. I will say his favorite part of the park had nothing to do with the park itself. There were probably 30 leftover jack-o-lanterns lining the pathways in the pioneer village and I think Bridger opened each one to see its moldy insides. "Pun-tin momma"

Required reading "Clifford Saves the Day". Thanks Ryan, we've read that book 200 times :)

Nils and Bridger in the gator.

Sometimes you just have to step back and appreciate what you have. What a view from the front of our house.

Volunteering at Wonderlab with Chris and South Environmental Club.

Panda Bear has really become part of the family now. If any of you find this exact animal somewhere, buy three and we'll pay you back. He goes EVERYWHERE! Bridger tells us that he is happy or sad and that he wants to share dinner with us. Panda bear does puzzles, plays trains, and gets tucked in. BFF.

Three boys in the dusty pumpkin patch. Esau wore his best tie and Ira wore some of Bridger's old favorites. We made a great choice with a very white t-shirt.

Esau and his giant pumpkin.

Our little pumpkin.

A little help from your friends.

Lola and Bridger. Clearly great friends. Bridger tried to steer her in the right direction telling her "No Lola, Sit down Lola" when she wriggled around in the wagon.
