Summer Vacation 2010

Smokies morning one. Bridger in his PJs finding fun with a toothbrush and the DVD player as it rained all morning outside the tent.

Old growth on day 3 in the Smokies. After an entire disastrous day of rain, the clouds cleared for us to hike to some falls. Bridger was a champ. Chilled all the way up and down the mountain in his comfy backpack Our humble home for 3 nights. In leiu Saturday morning pancakes and the comforts of home B played cars on the picnic table and dropped food all over the campsite as he snacked. Trail name earned: Bear Bait

Picnic tailgate as we waited for the trolley to see synchronous fireflies. One of the more memorable natural phenomena I will ever have the opportunity to experience. After one strike out due to rain and a poopy diaper with no spares on hand we made it to see these amazing little creatures light up in harmony.

Hunting for salamanders in a creek. LOTS of fun.

Bridger insisted on sitting in the car one morning as we ate and packed up. He started asking to "go home" after two nights camping. Despite his complaining we would like to think he had a good time.

Helping daddy with the highly explosive stove.

We took our first road-trip with Bridger to the Southeast for a little camping and some R&R on the beach in South Carolina. Here's B in North Carolina outside of Asheville, where we spent two great nights in a very fun city. Picture Bloomington, only surrounded by mountains...

Hiking Land to Sea Trail on Mt. Mitchell.

Chillin' with Grayson in South Carolina.

Isle of Palms Beach, SC. Collecting shells and getting to work.
